A dark but fun cyberpunk point-and-click game

Beyond a Steel Sky is a sci-fi point-and-click game developed by Revolution Software. It is the sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky, a cyberpunk game. In it, players defeat an AI overlord by subverting people’s will, hacking into robots, and unraveling dark secrets.

Similar to Gemini Rue, this single-player sci-fi, cyberpunk thriller features a comic-book inspired-world depicted by the legendary Dave Gibbons and scripted by Charles Cecil. Set in a dystopian far-future world shattered by nuclear wars, the game traces an investigation into the way an AI entity enforces its ‘happiness directive.’

Who can play it?

This indie action-adventure game is available on Windows, Linux, macOS, iOS, tvOS, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. This game is T-rated and suitable for players aged 13 and over.

What is it about?

Set 10 years after the events of Beneath the Steel Sky, this adventure game revolves around the character of engineer Robert Foster, who left Union City to live among tribespeople (a.k.a. Gaplanders). As he returns to the mega-city on the tracks of an abducted child, the sleuth finds an AI-run metropolis with a dark underbelly and chilling secrets.

What’s special about it?

This sci-fi game tries to bridge the graphics of comics and video games in a futuristic world with constant surveillance and a social credit system. It brings back Joey, a sentient robot, and replaces the LINC cyborg with an AI overlord. It also comes with a handy hacking tool.

A worthy sequel

This dystopian game offers compelling and responsive gameplay, a fast-paced narrative, and engaging interactions with humans and droids. It’s centered on the idea that an AI bot’s understanding of safeguarding 'happiness for humans' can be flawed and twisted.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
